Children With Special Needs

The term special need is used to collectively define those that require assistance due to physical, mental behavioural or medical disabilities and delays.

Children diagnosed with any of the following conditions are found to need such special attention.

Being in the heart of the city the Institute is accessible easily for one and all. The yoga classes are known for its simplicity. The Integral Yoga Institute works towards achieving Swamiji’s teaching of making it possible and affordable for everyone to attain Easeful body, Peaceful mind and Useful life.

Down Syndrome – a congenital disability due to a chromosomal abnormality.

Cerebral Palsy – a disorder caused by injury to the motor areas in the brain, affecting muscle tone and the ability to control movement and posture.

Autism Spectrum Disorder – a developmental disorder that typically appears in the first three years of life. This disorder makes it difficult for children to communicate verbally and non-verbally.

ADD/ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) – a behavioral disorder formally defined as a significant deficiency in age-appropriate attention.

Learning disabilities impede a person’s ability to store, process, or recall information.

Comment: any child may have a special need; not completely dependent on these diagnoses; some of the definitions are very simplified.
