The Learning Centre of our Institute stands as an epitome of
intellectual elegance and a repository of technical education, in
particular, Engineering and Technology. The Learning Centre of the
institute plays a pivotal role in the process of promoting and
demonstrating a desire for information, knowledge, and understanding
among the students, and so aiding them in the development of their
professional, personal, and spiritual lives. The Learning Centre
inspires and supports students, faculty, researchers, and staff in
all facets of their pursuits to dream, learn, create, and share
knowledge and provides access to a wide array of technical ideas and
information. Relying on its highly skilled staff, the Learning
Centre encourages innovation, capitalises on appropriate
technologies, forges effective partnerships, and unequivocally
promotes excellence among the vibrant generation.
A centrally air - conditioned, five storyed new Learning Centre was
built in an area of 8240 sq.m (88662 sq.ft) on par with
international standards with a view to cater to the prerequisites of
pedagogy in an exemplary manner. The fully automated Learning Centre
provides an ambience conducive for the teaching and learning process
with the support of 95,000 volumes of text and reference books with
RFID based Library Management System.

All the books are affixed RFID tags for identification. Users are requested not to tamper
or mutilate the RFID tag. If the tag is damaged, the return of the book will not be
authorized and the user has to pay a penalty of Rs.100/-

Books borrowed must be returned on the due date. An overdue charge of Rs. 1/- per day per
book will be charged for the late return of books. Renewal of borrowing is allowed for one
subsequent time if the particular book is not reserved by other users.

Renewal of borrowing can be done through online (https://library.bitsathy.ac.in).

RFID Cards are not transferable. Hence, the students are advised to borrow books by using
their own cards only.

Users will get acknowledgement slip for their issue & return transactions. In addition,
they will get e-mail alert for their transaction.

The library users are advised to check their circulation history and due date through
online (https://library.bitsathy.ac.in).

Before borrowing the books, students must ensure that the book is in good condition and
pages are intact. Defects must be brought to the notice of the Librarian. Otherwise, the
borrower
is liable to be held responsible.

No user shall deface the library books by underlining or scribbling notes in the margins.

Loss of books issued should be reported to the Librarian immediately.

If the borrower is unable to replace the lost book by another good copy, the user has to
pay the current price of the book in double along with overdue charges & RFID Tag penalty.

Journals, Magazines and Project Reports shall not be issued.

Personal books and files should be handed over to the attendant in the Property Counter
at the entrance of Learning Centre. Plain sheets / Notebooks may be taken instead. Students
are advised not to keep their valuable things in the Learning Centre. Learning Centre
authorities are not responsible for any loss of such items.

Silence is to be maintained in the Learning Centre. Those who violate are first warned
and then they are asked to leave the Learning Centre.
